How to Make Sumy Unforgettable for a Foreign Guest

A new day (16.07) at our summer language camp kicked off with an incredibly high-energy and practical challenge! This time, the topic of the meeting transformed our participants into true cultural ambassadors of their hometown.

Imagine this: a foreign guest named Gabi is planning to visit Sumy this summer. She wants to experience the city like a local, look beyond the pages of standard tourist brochures, and see what makes our city truly special, vibrant, and unique.

Our campers enthusiastically took on the challenge! The lyceum students set to work creating short visual guides titled "Welcome to Sumy." For two weeks, creative energy was buzzing as the participants edited dynamic Reels and designed colourful photo collages, bringing together photos of their favourite spots, hidden gems, and famous local landmarks.

All the media projects were uploaded to our shared Telegram group chat, which temporarily turned into an interactive map of Sumy. But the fun didn't stop with making videos and collages. The ultimate challenge was yet to come – presenting their ideas in English! The campers passionately convinced everyone why their chosen spots are absolute "must-visits" for Gabi. It was incredibly exciting to see them share their impressions of the videos and collages made by their peers.

This meeting not only helped everyone boost their media literacy and spoken English skills but also reminded us all of how beautiful, cosy, and unique our hometown is. Gabi would definitely be thrilled! Stay tuned for our next adventures – there is so much more exciting stuff ahead!
