October 15, 2026, another meeting of the English Speaking Club brought together students from Dmytro Yevdokymov Sumy Regional Academic Lyceum and Sumy State Pedagogical University.

Recently, a vibrant and engaging online meeting of the English Speaking Club took place, bringing together students from Sumy State Pedagogical University and pupils from Sumy Regional Academic Lyceum.

Within the framework of The Virtual English Language Educator Program, implemented with the support of the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine (Jen McArthur, Liliia Shylo), cooperation with a new virtual educator, Kenyon Whitehead, began on September 28 at the Department of English Philology and Linguodidactics of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences (FISF) of Sumy State Pedagogical University (Head of Department: Hanna Podosynnikova, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor; Coordinator: Viktor Bondarenko, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor).

On October 7, 2026, the webinar “Student Ownership of the Classroom” was held online on the Zoom platform. It was led by Kenyon Whitehead, virtual educator of the Department of English Philology and Linguodidactics of the Faculty of Foreign Languages and Social Sciences (FISF) of Sumy State Pedagogical University, within the framework of The Virtual English Language Educator Program, implemented with the support of the Regional English Language Office of the U.S. Embassy.

Hanna Podosynnikova, Head of the Department of English Philology and Linguodidactics and Head of the Inter-University Research Laboratory of Modern Technologies for Teaching Foreign Languages and Cultures at Sumy State Pedagogical University (PhD in Education, Associate Professor), together with Tetiana Dokashenko, Lecturer at the Department, participated in the 36th Annual TESOL-Hungary International Conference “Level Up Conference”, held on October 2–3,2026, in Budapest, Hungary.

October kicked off with the first online meeting of the English Speaking Club. Participants dove into an extremely lively and practical topic – unexpected travel problems.

On September 30, 2026, International Translation Day, the Department of English Philology and Language Didactics at Sumy State Pedagogical University, represented by Associate Professors Svitlana ALEKSENKO, Viktor BONDARENKO and Olena BAHATSKA together with their students enrolled in the Educational and Professional Master’s Program “English and German, translation included”, Specialty B11 Philology (Germanic languages and literatures (translation included), English as Major) joined in an online event hosted by the Department of Germanic Philology and Methodics of Foreign Languages at Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University.

As part of Academic Integrity Week, held from September 14 to 18, 2026, a series of thematic activities with first- and fourth-year students from various academic groups (groups 441, 541, 543, 443, 413, 046, and 016) was conducted by Cand.of Pedag. Scie., Ass. Prof., and Head of the Department of Foreign Languages Maryna Chykalova.
