Academic Integrity: An Open Dialogue on Values and Rules of Academic Conduct

On September 21 and 23, 2026, Associate Professor of the Department of Foreign Languages Inna Leonidivna Humeniuk held an event titled "What is Academic Integrity?" for 2nd and 3rd-year students of the Faculties of Foreign and Slavic Philology and the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Geography.

During the open discussion, emphasis was placed on adhering to the fundamental values of academic conduct – honesty, trust, fairness, respect, responsibility, and support. Participants were also reminded of the main "golden rules," including the prevention of plagiarism, cheating, data fabrication, and falsification of results, alongside rules for correct citation and paraphrasing of others' ideas.

Students shared instances of academic integrity violations they had witnessed and analyzed ways to resolve this issue. Important practical guidelines for the students included the lecturer's advice on the proper use and citation of information sources while preparing their own projects and presentations in English.
